Idaho Department Of Commerce Launches Eclipse Website

Kim Nilsson

Ahead of August’s total solar eclipse which will pass through Idaho, the state’s Department of Commerce is launching a website to help eclipse watchers coming to the Gem State.

Anywhere from 500,000 to a million people are expected to descend on Idaho this August to watch the once-in-a-lifetime spectacle of day turning to night as the moon blots out the sun.

With many small towns right in the path of ideal viewing, the Idaho Department of Commerce is launching a website to provide an information hub for both tourists and cities.

Given the huge draw of the celestial spectacle, KTVB reports the Department of Commerce is working with the state’s Office of Emergency Management, local law enforcement and area hospitals to ensure all are prepared for the huge influx of people on the third weekend of August.

Along with offering resources for communities and visitors, the website also has information for businesses in the small towns dotting the path of totality.
