Recount Ordered In Eagle City Council Race

Results for the Eagle City Council election may not be final just yet.

Jill Mitchell lost a chance to serve on Eagle City Council by five votes according to initial election results earlier this month.

Voters were allowed to pick two out of the four candidates listed on the ballot, with Miranda Gold and Kenny Pittman taking the top spots.

Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden ordered the recount Wednesday due to a request from Mitchell.

Ada County will pay for the recount under Idaho law, since the margin between Mitchell and Pittman is so small.

The Ada County Clerk’s office will conduct the recount at 8:30 a.m. next Thursday.
