Governor Brad Little Touts Idaho's 'Shared Values' In Inaugural Address

Governor Brad Little promised to uphold the shared values of Idahoans as he took his oath of office on the capitol steps Friday afternoon.

After a 19-gun salute and a flyover by the Idaho National Guard, Governor Little honored each of Idaho’s living former governors who sat on stage with him.

As the 33rd governor of the state, Little says he’ll make each decision by looking at it through the lens of providing the best opportunity for all state residents.

“It means good-paying jobs and higher incomes with the lightest possible hand of government. It means each Idahoan can achieve the American dream of home ownership. It means providing world-class schools,” he says.

To continue building off of extremely low unemployment and high wage growth, Little says better educating Idaho children will be a top priority.

“We must keep cultivating the skills of our citizens as we progress from a historically agrarian society to a modern, information driven economy.”

Along with Little, each other state elected official took their respective oaths of office. His official swearing in will take place in private Monday morning.

Idaho’s newest governor will immediately get to work, kicking off next week with his proposed budget and the State of the State Address.
