The Sun Valley Film Festivalwrapped up Sunday with actress Jodie Foster giving a public talk. Foster says she's excited about the festival because it brings unique films and the movie making process to the Wood River Valley.
"People here are pretty sophisticated," she said. "They go around and see films and all that. But a lot of people here only get to see what's in the mega-plex down on the corner. And that's not the whole world of film making. It's wonderful to bring fresh talent that experiments, people that are trying things in different ways, and to allow them to be part of that process."
The actress and director told the packed theater in Ketchum that Silence of the Lambs remains her favorite film. But she actually enjoys directing films more than acting. Foster's been coming to the Sun Valley area for several years. She says she enjoyed being a part of this year's festival.
"It's fun to do movies and skiing at the same time," she adds. "My two passions, so they're here all at once."
This marked the second year for the Sun Valley Film Festival. Organizers brought in more than 30 feature length films including seven world premiers.
