Ahead Of Boise Visit, Elizabeth Smart Talks About Living Her 'Happily Ever After'

Bill Miles

In her new book, Elizabeth Smart returns to her horrific ordeal when, at the age of 14, she was abducted at knifepoint and held captive for nine months. Nearly 16 years later, she's writing about how she and other people find the power to never give up, heal and move forward.

Prior to her April 5 appearance in Boise, Elizabeth Smart visits with Weekend Edition host George Prentice.

Rediscovered Books will host Elizabeth Smart in a special appearance at the Grove Hotel in Boise on Thursday, April 5. You can learn more about the event at rdbooks.org.

As host of Morning Edition, I'm the luckiest person I've ever known because I spend my days listening to smart, passionate, engaging people. It’s a public trust. I lean in to talk with actors, poets, writers and volunteers who make Idaho that much more special.
