Come to Bethlehem and See
Travel Through Streets of Olden Days of Bethlehem
ALL INVITED TO FREE INTERACTIVE NATIVITY EXPERIENCE
Boise – This Christmas season, all are invited to step back in time to immerse themselves in the sights, smells, and tastes of what life was like during the time Christ was born. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from congregations across Boise and Meridian are working together to produce an experience for the community that will not only be unique but authentic.
“When you first arrive, you will be given a pouch of coins to use to purchase items from the shops that line the streets of Bethlehem,” said Dawn Cannariato, a volunteer who is helping with the event. “You’ll have a chance to buy small clay pots or taste olives, cheeses, or crackers.”
The stroll through Bethlehem is interactive. Not only are there merchants to create the color of the community, but there will also be live donkeys, goats, sheep, and Clyde the Camel to build up to a live Nativity. Once guests explore the outdoor town, they are invited inside for an ongoing line-up of musical performances, a collection of Creches from around the world, and free refreshments.
“We hope all who attend the Live Nativity will come away with a deeper and greater feeling of what this time of year is truly all about,” said Aaron Maybon, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Boise Idaho North Stake. “We want all to understand that Christ’s birth and mission on this earth is central to our happiness.”
This is the 9th year for the Come to Bethlehem and See experience. It is free to the community and runs December 8th and 9th, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 8620 West Goddard Road in Boise. There is plenty of free, on-site parking.
