Community Strong
Deputy Sheriff Yvonne Cress has always been a fighter. A U.S. Navy veteran, she’s been with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office for six years and is passionate about her job. Her fighting spirit is being called upon more than ever. After giving birth to her daughter, Deputy Cress suffered a stroke that paralyzed the right side of her body. She’s on the road to recovery, but it will take at least six months to a year for her to get back to where she was before the stroke, and after using her time off for the birth of her daughter, she will soon be without pay and benefits.
That’s why Smith + Malek and Black Goat Fitness are sponsoring the Community Strong event along on August 26 to raise funds for Deputy Sheriff Cress.
Lace up your shoes and come join us at McEuen Park on Friday, Aug. 26 at 9 a.m. After the competition, we’ll provide coffee and pastries on our patio at 601 E. Front Ave. Suite 304, Coeur d’Alene. We look forward to seeing you there!
