Diverse Discussions: Media Approaches to Polarizing Topics
Mellisa Paul, a host and broadcast media professional at KTVB, will share her insight on broadcast journalism, interview techniques, and how to find balance when reporting on difficult topics.
Nancy Buffington, PhD, is a professional speech and communications coach and a TEDx Boise trainer. Buffington will discuss her experience working within the business community on how to prepare and position messaging for optimal communication.
Russ Stoddard is the owner of the branding agency Oliver Russell and Associates and the co-founder and board member of the nonprofit organization City of Good. Stoddard will complete the panel discussion by sharing his expertise in advertising while describing the challenges associated with becoming a pioneer for social change within the Treasure Valley community.
Following the panel discussion, a question and answer session will allow students and guests to engage with the three panelists. Tables with more information on inclusion and diversity resources will be offered outside of the theater.
