Intermediate Watercolor Painting Class
Intermediate Watercolor Painting Class
Thursday, 8/18 - 9am-noon
Continue your watercolor journey with step-by-step exploration of gradient washes, charging your brush, glazing, and using different brushes to make quick, simplified landscapes, animals, and objects. Learn how granulating and staining colors work, and how to use liquid frisket, salt, and other tools. We'll also address making compositions that are dynamic and compelling. You will take home a finished watercolor painting.
Professional artist and art facilitator, Jessie Nilo, will be your guide. This 3-hour workshop will build on previous knowledge, providing you with the tools needed to create with watercolor in journals, notes, handmade cards, scenic paintings and whimsical book illustrations.
Please bring the following with you:
- watercolor brushes of your choice in any size and shape
- 4-12 tubes of Grumbacher Academy watercolor paints (or similar brand) including 3 primary colors, Payne's Gray, and the colors you use most (We will also have some supplies available for those who need them.)
Optional:
- Layered clothing, as the temperatures may be difficult to manage in the building
- Water - hydration is important!
All additional supplies will be provided by the instructor. Space is currently limited to 16 people per session. If a minimum of 4 participants is not reached, the class may be rescheduled. Open to ages 15+.
