Western Energy Leaders to Convene in Boise as Region Faces Historic Demand Surge

BOISE, Idaho — With electricity demand across the Western United States expected to increase between 30 and 50 percent over the next decade, utility executives, energy developers, policymakers, and tribal leaders will gather in Boise for the 2025 Western Energy Summit: Powering Tomorrow’s Demand, August 20–22, at The Grove Hotel.
Hosted by NewsData, the summit will explore critical infrastructure, policy, and technology strategies to ensure grid reliability amid unprecedented growth driven largely by data centers and high-tech manufacturing. The agenda features a high-profile lineup of speakers and sessions designed to foster actionable collaboration across regional and institutional lines.
Confirmed speakers include Congressman Mike Simpson, who will address attendees alongside Lisa Grow, CEO of Idaho Power; Elliot Mainzer, CEO of the California Independent System Operator (CAISO); Jessica Matlock, CEO of PNGC Power; Cindy Crane, CEO of PacifiCorp; and keynote dinner speaker Dr. Rita Baranwal, former Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy.
