Rally to protect CBD for Pets in Idaho
Rally to protect CBD for Pets in Idaho
National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) and Bark n’ Purr Boise will co-host a community rally on Saturday, September 24 at 1:00 PM local time to alert stakeholders about the Idaho State Department of Agriculture’s (ISDA) decision to stop the sale of any animal products containing hemp and CBD.
This action is occurring after five years of sales with zero reports of adverse effects. The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is interpreting HB126, that was passed in 2021, as making any other products containing CBD as illegal. ISDA ignores chondroitin, glucosamine and many other 'Unapproved' items in treats or supplements, but now insist that CBD is 'Adulterated'. Before this bill was passed they apparently had no issue, but because the law did not specifically address pet CBD, ISDA has chosen to outlaw all pet CBD products November 1st 2022.
At this point we hope that with enough attention Idaho Governor Brad Little will direct his Department of Agriculture to hold off on any enforcement of dosage based pet CBD products. We are currently working with Idaho Legislators to craft legislation for this important product.
ISDA has exactly ZERO reports of adverse effects from all of Idaho in its five plus years of sales. Additionally, NASC (National Animal Supplement Council) certifies CBD products and monitors any reports of negative effects has said that there has been statistically ZERO reports after over 800 million doses of CBD products.
