This ongoing class is designed for entry-level and experienced students alike, looking for more practice time on the pottery wheel. Experienced clay instructor, Casey Gurr, will offer guided, small-group instruction for anyone interested in learning the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. More advanced students are welcome to use this time to practice what they already know and try new tricks! After creating about 1-3 pieces, we will dry and fire their pieces for them. Most pieces are ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks.
Ceramics teach a number of valuable skills, including perseverance, patience, problem solving, and creativity! Bring your kiddos in to come play on the clay wheel and learn how to use this fun tool to create functional and decorative pieces, or join in on the fun and make some ceramic pieces of your own! The whole family is welcome!

Learn and practice foundational visual arts concepts in this exploration-based and engaging class. No experience necessary--all that's required is a sense of discovery, an open mind, and a willingness to get slightly messy!
Each class will focus on an individual component of visual art, such as Color, Contrast, Pattern, or Form (shape). We'll start with a warm up to get your kids and teens in the zone to create, then practice 1-3 techniques while introducing core concepts along the way. Expect to come out of class with some new knowledge and vocabulary, 1-3 pieces of art, and a confidence boost! Neither perfection nor artistic realism are the goals--just fun, self-expression, and learning! Parents/caregivers are welcome to attend with their littles free of charge.
