The issue of homelessness in Boise has been in the news a lot lately. The city recently won a court victory in defense of its anti-camping ordinance. At the same time, a large homeless encampment in an alley called Cooper Court has grown not far from the heart of town.
City officials are sometimes criticized for how they handle homeless issues. Our Adam Cotterell talked with Boise’s director of community partnerships, Diana Lachiondo about what the city is doing to end homelessness and what it plans to do in the near future. They also talked about the tent city in Cooper Court and the criticism the city receives.
Lachiondo says she understands why people say the city isn’t doing enough to solve homelessness.
