Boise's Inn At 500 Owner Introduces New Hospitality Division

Sally Spaulding

Hospitality has been doing well in Boise. With the completed construction of two hotels and a third on the way, Boise’s hotel service is on the rise.

The owner of the Inn at 500 in Boise, Brian Obie, celebrated the launch of Obie Hospitality with a ceremonial flag raising that revealed the new company logo. Obie Hospitality only operates two hotels right now: the Inn at 500 and the Inn at the 5th in Eugene, Oregon, but he says more are in the works.

“We have one on the drawing board for another one in Eugene and then we’re also on the search for other locations,” says Obie.

Obie says the decision to create Obie Hospitality is due to the success of the Idaho and Oregon hotels. Obie’s attention was drawn to Boise because of its rising profile on the convention circuit and the city’s vibrancy.

“We screened communities in the western United States, scored them and Boise came out on top,” says Obie.

With the Inn at 500’s proximity to museums, Boise State and Julia Davis Park, Obie is confident his hotel is ideally situated to take advantage of downtown’s growth.
