Some eastern Idaho school districts are hiring new teachers to train the old teachers.
The Post Register reportsthe Idaho Falls School District and the Bonneville Joint School District are among those hiring instructional coaches, who help educate fellow teachers on new strategies and resources for the classroom.
Clarice Miller, a coordinator with the Bonneville School District, says teachers have so much on their plates now that they don't have time to investigate new teaching styles or methods to improve student achievement, but instructional coaches can help them meet those goals by crafting approaches designed for individual students.
The Idaho Falls district began hiring instructional coaches in 2009, and now has four on staff. The Bonneville district hired its first coach last year.
