Leaders at many of Idaho’s colleges and universities would argue their schools don’t get the credit they deserve. But the most underrated is Mormon Church-owned Brigham Young University-Idaho, at least according to the news website Business Insider.
The site compiled a list of the most underrated colleges in each state. For that, it partnered with school ranking website Niche and combined academic rankings and acceptance rate.
“Oftentimes, these schools' strong academic programs are overshadowed by the popular perception that a college is better if it's tough to get into. These colleges challenge that myth, and are smart — and potentially safe — options for student applicants.” – Business Insider
BYU Idaho has a 99 percent acceptance rate according to Business Insider’s list. That’s one of the highest in the country. However, most of its students are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Niche gives BYU-Idaho a B- for Academics and lists its tuition as $3,770.
