Boo Boo the bear has been moved to a rehabilitation area outside McCall. The Snowdon Wildlife Sanctuary takes care of injured and orphaned wildlife.
Boo Boo made headlines last month when he was found by firefighters working on the Mustang Fire north of Salmon. He was alone, hiding up a tree, with second degree burns on all four paws.
He's spent the last few weeks at the Idaho Humane Society. There, doctors have watched his burns heal. The underweight bear ferociously ate a diet of dog food, vegetables, and fresh berries and he gained weight.
The black bear cub weighed in at 46 pounds when he was transferred today. He'll spend the night in a pen, attached to a two-acre enclosure at the sanctuary. When he's let out of the pen, he'll be free to roam around the enclosure.
If he continues to recover, he will eventually be released back into the wild.
