The number of West Nile virus cases in Idaho have gone up this month in humans and mosquitoes.
Human cases of West Nile were reported in four counties recently, Blaine, Lincoln, Payette, and Washington.
Health officials report the Payette case is a man in his 60s who was hospitalized but is recovering. The case from Washington county was a woman in her 70s who went to the hospital and has since been discharged.
So far, five Idahoans have caught the mosquito-borne illness this summer. Eight counties report finding mosquitoes with West Nile.
According to Idaho's Southwest District Health only 20 percent of people infected with West Nile show symptoms of the disease.
