St. Luke’s Health System is distributing over a quarter of a million dollars in grants to Magic Valley nonprofits.
A group of representatives from 30 area charity groups gathered to be awarded shares of $275,000 in Community Health Improvement Grants from St. Luke’s.
The Times News reports the money will go towards projects that better health and wellness in the Magic Valley. Among the organizations getting a boost in funding are the Boys and Girls Club, the regional district of court appointed special advocates for children and the Idaho Children’s Trust Fund.
The grant money stems from a fund created in 1998 by Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. Since 2006, when St. Luke’s got involved, the fund has distributed more than $2.5 million to nonprofits in communities throughout the region.
