An Idaho Military Chaplain Helps Families Who’ve Lost Soldiers

Earlier this month, U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Kenneth Cochran from Wilder, Idaho was killed in Afghanistan.  The funeral took place Sunday (January 29, 2012)  inside his old high school gym in Parma.  Chaplain Robert Morris helped with that service. He’s a military chaplain for the Idaho National Guard. Morris actually helped deliver the news to Cochran’s family that their son had been killed.  He talks with Sadie Babits about what it’s like to help families deal with such news. He begins by explaining that his heart pounds when he goes to a family’s door.

You can hear an extended conversation with military chaplain Robert Morris. He talks about how he became a minister and how his path took him into the military and eventually led him to become a military chaplain in the Idaho National Guard.
