BOISE, ID – The Idaho Army National Guard deploys this weekend for Cambodia. Soldiers will spend 10 days in the Asian country to share military tactics and training. Captain Eric Simmons is an intelligence officer for the 116th Cavalry Brigade. He says, “I am really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a great experience for us, for the Brigade, to glean stuff of how these guys operate, but also helping out the other country to see if we can help them become a little bit more efficient in everything they do.” Nearly one third of the 60 Idaho soldiers are medical personnel. They’ll also provide basic medical help to Cambodians as part of this exercise.
