Federal officials say 13 people affiliated with two well-known gangs have been indicted. The suspects face a host of charges.

Eleven of the defendants are looking at multiple counts of drug distribution and conspiracy to distribute meth. Two others have been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says a federal grand jury indicted the suspects last week. Ranging in age from 28 to 48, prosecutors say the men and women were members and associates of the Severely Violent Criminals gang and the Aryan Knights.

Authorities say most of the suspects are already in custody. Just one, 48-year-old John Redfern of Boise, remains at large.

An investigation by the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crime Task Force led to the indictments. The group of federal, state and local authorities includes the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and a range of Treasure Valley police departments.

Federal drug trafficking charges are generally punishable by $1 million fine and up to 20 years in prison. Illegally possessing a firearm can result in up to a decade behind bars and a $250,000 fine.
