There are at least 180 firearms and ammunition makers in Idaho, and the state is looking for more. After all: Idaho is a gun-friendly state. Why not encourage gun manufacturers to come in and set up shop?

Two Guns Found In Passenger's Carry-On Bag At Boise Airport

Transportation Security Administration

Security officials found two guns and ammunition in one traveler’s carry-on luggage at the Boise airport Monday.

The Transportation Security Administration found the two guns in a carry-on bag during a routine screening. TSA found one unloaded gun. The other was loaded with six rounds of ammunition. Fifty more rounds of ammunition were also found in the bag.

TSA called the Boise Police Department who interviewed the passenger. He was headed to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport.

The TSA Federal Security Director for Idaho says in 27 years working in airports, it’s the first time he’s seen two guns in the same passenger’s bag.

So far this year, TSA has found five guns at the Boise Airport. Four of them were loaded. Firearms can only travel on a plane if they are unloaded, locked in a special case and put in checked baggage.

Boise Police confiscated the guns. The Ada County Prosecutor will now decide the next move. TSA will also review the case and could give a civil penalty to the passenger which could range from $2,000 to $13,333 per violation.
