Lisa Hannigan: Handcrafted Irish Folk

After years of enthralling audiences with her ethereal voice, Lisa Hannigan is establishing herself as a solo force. The Irish multi-instrumentalist, actress and singer-songwriter is best known for her long-time collaboration with Damien Rice, having toured with him and sung background vocals on his acclaimed albums. In addition, Hannigan has collaborated extensively with Snow Patrol, The Frames and Herbie Hancock.

Hannigan just released Sea Sew, her beautifully lush solo debut, on which she sings of missing friends, love and coffee with a versatile voice and intelligent lyrics. In a session with host David Dye, Hannigan discusses the unusual experience of recording the album in a barn, and reveals her early ambition to be an opera singer.
