Skiers and snowboarders have more options this weekend as winter starts to take hold across Idaho mountains.
Tamarack Resort is now open each day of the week, with three lifts and 11 of their runs operational.
You’ll need to ride the Tamarack Express lift down to the base area, since there’s currently no open terrain below mid-mountain.
Tubing and Nordic skiing are open to Bogus Basin visitors. Susan Saad with Bogus Basin says they need about an additional foot of snow on the ground before opening up their normal runs.
“We would love to have a weather pattern change and have some snow come in and help get us started. So we’re watching the forecast closely and hoping that we’ll get some activity here in the next week or two,” Saad says.
Beginners or anyone looking for a lighter day of skiing can get free lift tickets at Brundage’s Easy Street; a foot of new snow fell there last weekend.
You’ll have the most options in Sun Valley – 17 trails are groomed on Bald Mountain with five lifts open. Officials hope to open Dollar Mountain this weekend as well.
Soldier Mountain officials are asking their Facebook followers to pitch in on a collective snow dance, but hope to be open next weekend, according to KTVB.
