Former State Dept. Deputy Sec. Says Drone Attack 'Escalates Things In New Direction'

In the wake of a U.S. drone strike killing a top Iranian general, Steven Feldstein, former deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. State Department and current holder of the Frank and Bethine Church of Public Affairs at Boise State, visited Morning Edition to talk about the critical but yet-to-be-determined next steps in the escalation between the U.S. and Iran.

Feldstein spoke to Morning Edition host George Prentice about what has already become a "high alert" standoff.

"Right now, this has escalated things in a new direction. And it's unclear exactly what the reaction from Iran will be, so that has really put people on high alert."
