Idaho’s State Controller has stepped down. Donna Jones sent a letter to Idaho Governor Butch Otter over the weekend announcing her retirement. She's been recovering from injuries she received in a car accident in May.
Otter appointed her replacement today. Brandon Woolf has been Acting State Controller for several months.
Woolf says Jones is focusing on her extensive physical therapy. “The recovery time is going to take about two years, or potentially two years for this recovery process to take place. Was it an easy decision for her, no. But Donna’s not a quitter, but she wanted to do what was best for the citizens.”
Woolf is a 15-year veteran of the Controller’s Office. His appointment is subject to approval by the Idaho Senate, when it meets next year. Woolf will serve out Jones’ term, which ends in 2015.
