East Idaho Republicans have come up with a shortlist of candidates to replace former state Senator Bart Davis who was selected to be the U.S. Attorney for Idaho.
The Idaho GOP’s Legislative District 33 Committee put forward three names this week as possible successors to Davis, the former Senate Majority Leader.
The top pick for the open seat, according to the district committee, is Bonneville GOP Central Committee Chairman Mark Fuller. While the group has expressed a preference, the final call will be up to Governor Butch Otter.
State Representative Bryan Zollinger from Idaho Falls is another prospect, the Post Register reports. Rounding out the potential replacements is unsuccessful candidate for Bonneville County commissioner Tony Potts.
