There’s little gray in the black-and-white world of political cartoonists. Bold and provocative, editorial cartoons engender in readers the deepest pleasure and the most passionate anger.
Where do ideas come from? What’s it like to be a political cartoonist in an age where reality sometimes seems to play as satire? And does that make the job easier or harder?
Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Jack Ohman will be in Boise to answer those questions. He’ll discuss his life as a political cartoonist in polarized times, how he became a cartoonist, and how he views the world (and Oregon and Idaho). He may even talk about his 25 years of fly fishing the Panhandle for cutthroats, which is more fun than drawing Potomac cutthroats.
Ohman appears in Boise with the assistance of the Idaho Humanities Council.
