City Club of Boise: Healthcare And Policy Expert Panel

In the six months since Idaho saw its first coronavirus case in mid-March, Idahoans have experienced upheaval in many aspects of our daily lives. From the stay-at-home order to closures of schools and businesses, to gradual reopening and then closures yet again as cases surged – we have been on a roller-coaster ride without a clear track before us.

Our panel of healthcare and policy experts share perspectives on the growing body of scientific knowledge about the novel coronavirus, its spread in Idaho thus far, impacts on healthcare capacity, advances in prevention and treatment, and recommendations to help curb the spread of the virus.

Panelists

  1. Patrice Burgess, MD, Regional Chief Medical Informatics Officer for St. Alphonsus Hospital and member of the Idaho Testing Task Force

  2. Christine Hahn, MD, Epidemiologist Idaho Department of Health and Welfare

  3. Ada County Commissioner Diana Lachiondo, Central District Health board member

  4. James P. Souza, MD, chief medical officer for St. Luke's Health System, Idaho Testing Task Force co-chair
