“Three shots. That’s all it takes to change the course of American history.”
Those lines are from Rod Gramer’s thriller, “The Good Assassin.” The novel is both a page-turner in the best sense of the word, and a thoughtful exploration of the national security issues that make headlines daily.
In “The Good Assassin,” Mr. Gramer introduces us to a not-so-distant world where Americans have traded away freedoms once held dear in the battle against terrorism, and where power held by our intelligence agencies has fallen into the wrong hands. His story is fictional, but it poses some very real questions.
Rod Gramer is a veteran journalist who has worked for media outlets in Idaho, Oregon and Florida, and he currently serves as the president and CEO of Idaho Business for Education. Mr. Gramer is the co-author of “Fighting the Odds: The Life of Senator Frank Church.” A paperback edition of the book was released in 2014.
