Treefort Early Bird Tickets Sell Out In Record Time, Limited $999 Passes Available

Treefort Music Fest isn't until March, but organizers of the indie festival are already getting people stoked about this year's event.

Friday, they ramped up the excitement by offering a limited number of general admission passes at a discounted price. There were 200 early bird tickets available at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning – but just four minutes later these special-offer tickets were all scooped up. Keep in mind, those 200 tickets sold blindly. Concert-goers don't know yet who is performing at the 2014 Treefort Music Fest.

Treefort producer Lori Shandro says they limited the early bird ticket purchases to two per person but they still sold in record time. Shandro says all tickets are available now, including four-day general passes at $119. She says those passes will remain at that price until March 1, when they will go up to $129.

More details about changes to Treefort's ticket options were released earlier this week. Shandro says "zip line" tickets are replacing "VIP" passes, giving these pass holders priority entry to venues. These passes will cost you $299, and the limited number are also available now. Shandro says they changed the name to play up on the tree fort idea, and to emphasize how these tickets literally let you zip to the front of the line.

The biggest ticket price in this year's Treefort pass options is the elite "secret handshake pass", which will set you back $999. Shandro says they'll only be selling 10 of these, and for a pretty good reason: for almost a thousand bucks, secret handshakers will have a personal Treefort staffer guide them through the festival, giving backstage access where they can. According to the website, these pass holders will also get preferred entry to the every part of the festival, and "will learn the secret handshake in the artists lounge [and] be treated to a marshmallow roast with a Treefort artist." Shandro says she's curious to see how well these limited passes sell.

And for a little Friday entertainment, here's a video compilation of some of the magic from Treefort 2013.
