Flights to Sun Valley will be up overall next year, but depending on where you’re flying from, it may be harder to get to the slopes.
According to the Mountain Express, the Air Service Board recently approved their nearly $3 million budget for next year, which cuts a direct flight from Portland to Friedman Memorial Airport starting in October.
The number of seats available on flights from Los Angeles and Seattle will drop by a few thousand. Trips from Denver and San Francisco will also see slight cuts.
In return, about 14,000 new seats on flights from Salt Lake City will be available.
No cuts to Chicago flights will be made next year.
Taxpayers in Ketchum, Sun Valley and Hailey overwhelmingly renewed a special tax last year to help subsidize flights to the area and boost marketing efforts for tourists.
