Dean Of Boise State's Innovation College Says School Represents New Way Of Preparing Students

Courtesy Gordon Jones

In August, Boise State University announced plans to create a new College of Innovation and Design.   Administrators said it was an answer to what nationally has become an aging academic model that’s producing college graduates with skill sets that don’t always align with what companies need.

This week, BSU announced it has hired Harvard’s Gordon Jones to be the college’s first dean.

Jones has led a similar department at the Massachusetts university, and will start in Boise in late May.

Jones says the college will be home to new degrees developed by professors from different academic disciplines.
