The Idaho Board of Education has named five finalists to replace outgoing Boise State University President Bob Kustra -- four men and one woman are in the running for Boise State's top job.
Robbyn Wacker is the provost of the University of Northern Colorado. Her research has focused on aging and higher education research.
Kevin Reynolds holds a doctorate in chemistry and is vice president for finance and administration at Portland State University.
James Lentini serves as provost of Oakland University in southeast Michigan. The composer and classical guitarist holds a Doctor of Musical Arts.
Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas is also in the running. His research focuses on black men in literature.
And Daniel Weeks, a psychologist by trade, is the president of the University of Northern British Columbia.
Starting next Monday, the five candidates will be on the Boise State University campus for a series of open forums with faculty, staff and students. The State Board of Education will select Boise State's new president in May.
