Alaska Airlines Apologizes for Delay

Updated October 8, 3:55 p.m.

Alaska Airline, which has flights to and from Boise,  has experienced delays today.

Company president and CEO Brad Tilden says a power outage in Wisconsin affected he airlines’ internet connection, and its ability to check in passengers. The system is now back up but the airline reports there are long delays for checking in online.

Tilden was at SeaTac Airport for a joint announcement with Delta Airlines. He took a moment to apologize for the delay. “We’re doing everything we can to get the airline back on track," Tilden explained. "We’re operating out of other cities. We’re planning to operate manually in Seattle, doing what we can…I just want to commit to our customers we’re doing everything we can to get back rolling again.”

Passengers were unable to check in for  flights starting at 7:40 this morning. The airline had to start checking in passengers manually. At least one flight to Boise from Portland, Or. was canceled this afternoon.  You can read the latest departure and arrival schedules for flights to and from Idaho's capitol city here.

An Alaska Airlines spokesperson says customers could rebook their flights at no charge.
