Jump Over The Snake River Canyon Is Back On

A jump across the Snake River Canyon is back on, this time with Hollywood stuntman Eddie Braun.

The Twin Falls Times News says Braun will ride a rocket across the canyon in September.

The last attempt to jump the canyon came in 1974 when Evel Knievel tried and failed to make it across.

Braun will launch from private property in Jerome County and land on private property in Twin Falls County.

Braun and Texas stuntman “Big Ed” Beckley have each been trying to set up a jump for the past few years. Beckley spent almost one million dollars in a public state auction for the right to jump the canyon on county land. But after spending more than $1.6 million dollars on the project, Beckley says Fox backed outof a TV deal and the jump was canceled.

Fox also canceled plans to air Braun’s planned jump two years ago. Monday he announced his new jump date, September 17, with a handwritten note on a cocktail napkin on Facebook. He’s also hosting a Kickstarter campaign to raise $150,000 for the project.
