Chocolate Reigns Supreme For Idaho During Holidays

Candy and the holiday season go together like bread and butter. The National Confectionary Association says holiday candy sales should be about $1.93 billion this year.

That includes 1.76 billion candy canes and 150 million chocolate Santa Clauses.

What candy is the most popular? That depends on where you live.

Idahoans like M&Ms, followed by Hershey’s Kisses and Jolly Ranchers. But folks in Utah prefer Reindeer Corn, a red, white and green version of candy corn.

In Wyoming the number one candy is also M&Ms, while folks in Montana prefer Skittles.

Peppermint bark is the most popular candy in Nevada. In Oregon it’s Reeses Minis.

Finally, just so you know, if you’re like most people, you will spend about $110 for holiday candy and food.
