Growth, Change, Vision: What Do Treasure Valley Mayors Think?

Darin Oswald

Idaho Statesman
About 170 people attended the October, 2018 forum on growth in the Treasure Valley.

Boise State Public Radio News and the Idaho Statesman co-hosted a panel discussion with five Treasure Valley mayors on Oct. 3, 2018. The mayors discussed their vision for their cities as the region experiences explosive growth; in the last 18 years, the combined population in Canyon and Ada Counties has gone up by 61 percent.

The discussion featured Mayor Debbie Kling (Nampa), Mayor Dave Bieter (Boise), Mayor Tammy de Weerd (Meridian), Mayor John Evans (Garden City) and Mayor Stan Ridgeway (Eagle). Audience members asked questions about housing, transporation, jobs, the environment and development.

Below you'll find the complete audio from the evening, co-moderated by Idaho Matters host Gemma Gaudette and Idaho Statesman reporter Sven Berg.
