Man Charged With Murder In Ada County Triple Homicide Case

This post was updated at 4:41 p.m.

A grand jury in Ada County has indicted Adam Dees, 22, with three counts of first degree murder in connection with the deaths of 80-year-old Theodore M. Welp, 77-year-old Delores (Elaine) Welp and their son, 52-year-old Thomas P. Welp.

Their bodies were found March 10 inside their home in the Boise foothills.

Ada County prosecutors say  it’s not yet clear if they’ll seek the death penalty.

The indictment includes some information about how members of the Welp family died. The Ada County sheriff's department says Theodore and Elaine were bludgeoned and-or shot in the head with a 9 mm handgun. Thomas was bludgeoned and-or stabbed in the neck, and-or shot in the head with a handgun, according to the indictment.

Last month, the sheriff's office arrested Dees on grand theft and forgery charges in connection with the case. The sheriff's office says Wednesday's indictment shows Dees used credit cards that belonged to the Welps at retailers Sears, Oakley, The Buckle, and Boise restaurant Barbacoa.
