Former Idaho State Correctional Institution Worker Arrested For Alleged Sex With Inmate

Ada County Sheriff's Office

A former employee at the Idaho State Correctional Institution has been arrested for sexual contact with an inmate.

The Idaho Statesman reports 22-year-old Shauna Lynn Kelly was arrested Monday and is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

Detectives began investigating the allegations in March after being contacted by Idaho Department of Corrections officials.

The detectives found evidence that Kelly, who was a medical assistant at the Kuna facility, had allegedly engaged in illegal sexual contact with a 21-year-old male inmate inside the prison between October and December 2014.

A warrant was issued for Kelly's arrest July 31.

Kelly appeared to have turned herself in to authorities Monday.
