For their seventh studio album, Release, members of the Florida-based pop-rock group Sister Hazel each contributed a couple of songs to the recording process. The songs are informed by divorce, death and the friendships the band has formed. Since bursting onto the music scene with Somewhere More Familiar -- the 1997 album that spawned the enormous hit "All for You" -- Sister Hazel has charted five more Top 30 hits and enjoyed gold and platinum sales.
The voices of Ken Brock and Drew Copeland supply the group's soaring vocal sound; they're backed by Ryan Newell on lead guitar, Jett Beres on bass and Erik Hargrove on drums. Performing some of its best-known hits for Mountain Stage, the group also laughs with the audience about having its songs licensed to appear in movies such as Major League 3.
