The Idaho Transportation Department Wednesday released a video showing progress on the Broadway Bridge replacement. It was taken by an aerial drone just a few days ago.
This video is the latest the department has released to the public. Previous ones showed the demolition in January and a speeded-up look at hoisting huge metal girders into place in March.
The new video shows a bridge that is not paved yet but where workers can walk around freely as they build its deck.
Because the bridge is on a major artery into downtown and near things like Boise State's Albertsons Stadium, and St. Luke's Medical Center, its replacement is causing detours and some frustration for drivers and business owners.
Next week ITD will begin re-paving the sections of Broadway leading up to the bridge. That will cause more changes for drivers.
Work will continue at least through the summer.
