The Idaho Transportation Department’s drivers licensing system is now back online more than a week after a computer error shut down most facilities statewide.
The servers had been slow over the past two weeks as well, which ITD says has been corrected.
DMV Administrator Alberto Gonzalez calls the delays unacceptable and that they are taking steps to prevent similar problems in the future.
Officials say there could be long lines at local DMV offices after the outage.
They also note the outages have not affected ITD’s rollout of the Star Card – an optional, REAL ID compliant license – that will allow you access into federal buildings and airports.
