City Of Boise Tests Weekend Pick-Up And Drop-Off Zone In Downtown

Idaho Statesman file

Next Friday, the City of Boise Parking Services will launch a month-long curbside pick-up and drop-off zone in downtown during weekend nights. The pilot project is meant to keep congestion at bay between 5th Street and 6th Street on Main Street.

Taxis, Uber and Lyft drivers can use the zone, as well as people picking up or dropping off their friends.

In an email, Lana Graybeal with the City's Office of Community Engagement says they're responding to feedback they've received from business owners and the general public concerned about the flow of traffic in the area. The block is popular for late-night revelers on the weekend.

The pilot project starts Friday, April 6 and runs through Saturday, April 28. The City says vehicles parked in the zone will be towed.
