Senate Committee Shuts Down Driving Authorization Bill For Undocumented Immigrants

Lawmakers in the Senate Transportation Committee heard testimony Thursday on a bill that would give driving authorization cards to Idaho’s undocumented immigrants. Committee members voted to keep the bill, introduced by Sen. Jim Guthrie (R-McCammon), in committee instead of sending it to the floor.

Senate President Pro-tem Chuck Winder (R-Boise) indicated interest in setting up an interim committee to look further into the issue.
