Idaho Lawmakers Consider Abortion, Term Limits And 'Stand Your Ground' Bills

Week four of the 2018 Idaho Legislature has come to a close. This first month is typically a time when more and more bills are introduced by lawmakers and when public testimony starts to heat up in committees.

Several bills introduced this week included a “stand your ground” law that would protect homeowners and others who use deadly force for protection from harm. Abortion and term limits also came up this week.

Boise State Political Science Professor Gary Moncrief tells Samantha Wright there are also several dates to watch coming up in the legislature.

Gary and Samantha Wright have a new podcast called “Legislative Breakdown.” We pick apart the Idaho Legislature each week to find out how it affects YOU -- and this week we look at the weird ways it works. Find “Legislative Breakdown” every Friday in iTunes, in the NPR One app and here.
