Just Two Weeks Left In The Idaho Legislature

Otto Kitsinger
/
Associated Press

The Idaho Legislature is just a couple of weeks away from going home and bills are moving through at a furious pace -- at least in the House.

In previous sessions, former Majority Leader Senator Bart Davis kept bills in the Senate moving along, but he stepped down last year to become the U.S. Attorney for Idaho. Now his successor must take up the challenge.

As it comes down to crunch time, Boise State Political Science Professor Gary Moncrief tells Samantha Wright some of these bills could be held hostage or dramatically changed.

Gary and Samantha Wright have a podcast called “Legislative Breakdown.” We pick apart the Idaho Legislature each week to find out how it affects YOU -- and this week our special guest is Senator Dean Mortimer. Find “Legislative Breakdown” every Friday in iTunes, in the NPR One app and here.
