City Club Of Boise: Looking To The Future With Idaho National Laboratory

Idaho National Laboratory

This forum was recorded on Wed, October 11, 2017 in downtown Boise.  Listen below.

Idaho National Laboratory Director Dr. Mark Peters will address the City Club of Boise about the INL’s nuclear research, clean energy work and emerging mission to protect the nation’s critical infrastructure from cyber attacks.

The lab, a staple of Eastern Idaho’s economy and identity, expects to see an expanded presence in Boise, with a cyber-security partnership with Boise State University, growing nuclear power research grants here and more.

What’s more, as 30 percent of INL’s workforce nears retirement age, the lab is investing in STEM education in Idaho schools and working to align university curriculum to meet industry needs — all in hopes of developing an Idaho talent pipeline that will help more Idahoans build a career in nuclear energy and cybersecurity research.
