Station Web Stream Goes Live With Triton

Our new streaming player offers a consistent look, playlist data and persistence across our website.

It's a long story, but here it goes: NPR Digital Services recently announced its transition from Limelight to Triton Digital to host its streaming service. Because both Boise State Public Radio's news and classical streams are hosted via NPR, we've undergone updates regarding our streaming player and URLs.

Shorter version: We've made some updates to our live web streams that may cause issues for those of you whose browsers or smartphone apps have saved previous versions of our streams. Please note: If you saved or bookmarked our old "Listen Live" player in any way, this player will no longer work and because it is entirely different from our new player, there's no sense in keeping it. Just bookmark our homepageinstead!

Don't fret - there's a quick fix to clear that saved browser or cache. If you're having issues streaming us via an app, try deleting the app from your phone or tablet and then redownloading it from your app store.

As for computers:

If you're using a Windows-based machine, hard refresh your browser by simultaneously pressing CTRL and F5.

If you're using a Mac-based machine, hard refresh your browser by simultaneously pressing OPT, CMD, E.

If hard refreshing doesn't do the trick, try this: Window users hit CTRL, SHIFT, DELETE simultaneously. Mac users hit CMD, SHIFT, DELETE. This will bring up your browsing data and from there you can clear your cache and cookies. (Don't worry- -there is an option to save your precious passwords!)

Still no luck? Try restarting your computer. Sometimes it takes a good reboot for the changes you made above to take hold.

If a hard refresh, restart and browser cache clearing doesn't work, please feel free to email our Digital Content Coordinator Lacey Daley: laceydaley@boisestate.edu. She is happy to help troubleshoot any issues you may encounter.

Aside from streaming us on our website, you can also listen to us a few other ways:

Apple Music: Listen to a live web stream of KBSX News via Apple Music. Just search 'KBSX News' in the Apple Music app and add our station to you 'my stations' list.

NPR One: Get KBSX News stories, newscasts and NPR content on-the-go with this on-demand app. Simply download NPR One from your app store, tap "stations" and add KBSX as your station.

NPR App: Listen to our news or classical streams live via the NPR app. Just download NPR News from your app store, tap "stations" and add KBSX and KBSU to your list of favorites for easy access.

FM Dial: Of course, we're also on your radio dial. Get a list of frequencies for southern and central Idaho, here.

Our Purpose: Be at the civic, cultural and intellectual forefront of our community to create an informed, engaged public.
